Here are the types of materials you can recycle: aluminum cans, metals, paper, cardboard, glass and plastics.
What Is Single Stream Recycling?
Single stream (also known as “fully commingled” or “single-sort”) recycling refers to a system in which all paper fibers, plastics, metals, and other containers are mixed in a collection truck, instead of being sorted by the depositor into separate commodities (newspaper, paperboard, corrugated fiberboard, plastic, glass, etc.) and handled separately throughout the collection process. In single-stream, both the collection and processing systems are designed to handle this fully commingled mixture of recyclables, with materials being separated for reuse at a materials recovery facility (MRF).
Gold Medal also offers a reputable “paper only” recycling program called Paper Retriever. Paper Retriever offers an exciting paper recycling program where communities can encourage their residents to help their environment.
Batteries, computers, electronics
These should not be tossed in the general trash pickup container. Many communities have special recycle days to collect these items. Simply put them aside and take them to those events.OR
Certain retailers like Staples and Best Buy will accept your old PCs and batteries. Take them there so they will be re-purposed and reused in an environmentally safe way.
CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION
The disposal cost of your remodeling, construction or demolition project can be reduced by recycling your construction and demolition waste. Gold Medal provides separation and processing of these materials at specially designed facilities to reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill. Gold Medal can design a comprehensive program that will minimize cost and maintain full regulatory and environmental compliance.

Sustainability involves making decisions and taking action that are in the interests of protecting the natural world, with particular emphasis on preserving the capability of the environment to support human life. It is an important topic at the present time, as people are realizing the full impact that businesses and individuals can have on the environment.
