Main Street Recycling, Inc
608 E Main St, Ontario, California, United States
Main Street Fibers opened its doors in 1983 with a used truck, an old baler, and 3 employees. We have since grown to become the largest full service recycler in the Inland Empire. We now dispatch over 25 trucks daily, and combined with our employees, contract labor and trucking we keep over 100 people working hard to service our ever expanding customer base.Through it all, our philosophy hasn't changed. 'Take care of the customer.' We have customers that have been with us from day one. To keep a customer happy for over 25 years, you need to give them great service and treat them fair. We strive to do both, whether it is a 25 year customer or a first time customer.
We are proud to say that we are a family owned and operated American company. Main Street Fibers is not owned by a mill or an overseas company that does not know its customers or employees. Main Street Fibers' owners work side by side daily with their employees and customers and are involved in every aspect of the business. One of Main Street Fibers biggest assets is our knowledge. Not only has Main Street Fibers been involved with the CRV program since its inception, it has been at the forefront in finding markets for all types of materials. Our owners and managers have over 200 years of combined experience in the Recycling Industry.
COMPETITIVE PRICING
Main Street Fibers purchases over 1 million pounds of recyclables every day. Our large volume assures Main Street the best possible prices on the material it sells. With this price advantage, we are able to pay our customers more.
PROMPT ACCURATE PAYMENTS
Monthly tonnage reports for all commercial accounts, accompanied by certified weight tickets on every load picked up or delivered.
CERTIFIED SCALES
All of our scales are certified and checked regularly by the Department of Weights & Measures. Main Street Fibers operates 15 scales, including a 70 ft. drive on truck scale capable of handling semi truck loads of material.
CALIFORNIA REDEMPTION VALUE OR CRV
In 1986 the State of California enacted a program that places a deposit on certain beverage containers, which is paid at the time of purchase by the consumer in the State of California. This deposit is then reimbursed to the consumer when that container is taken to a recycler as an incentive to keep containers out of the landfill. On top of the return of this deposit, the recycler generally adds to the price a “Scrap Value” which is the amount the recycler can get for the sale of the container whether it be Aluminum, Plastic or Glass.
Main Street Fibers processes over 40 million pounds of CRV material a year and as a Certified Processor for the State of California buys from 100’s of smaller Recyclers and Buy-Back Centers all over Southern California. Not all containers have California Redemption Value and therefore are not eligible for the reimbursement of the deposit.
