Recycling Associates, Inc

1 Whipple Street, Nashua, New Hampshire, United States

Recycling Associates, Inc. is a local, family-owned business based in Nashua, NH. We’ve been proudly serving New England for over three generations, with reliable, professional recycling services you can trust.Unlike many recycling firms, we own our own recycling plant and our own truck fleet. This means we're ready and waiting to handle your recyclable material whenever you need us – and we'll manage the entire pick-up and recycling process ourselves, so you know it's being handled the right way and on-time.Contact us today to learn more about how we can help you save money with trusted recycling services that will reduce your carbon footprint.

Recycling is in our family roots. Since the early 1970s, the Vellucci family has been actively involved in owning and operating recycling facilities in New England. Our goal was quite simple: to deliver the highest quality recycling services with maximum return to our customers.

This simple vision of helping our customers save money through recycling never wavered through the years. In 2003, the Vellucci family decided to expand on its decades of recycling experience with a new business – Recycling Associates – at a 15,000 square foot facility in Hudson, New Hampshire. Like the early days, we started off by focusing our services primarily on paper recycling and then expanded to include a wide range of recycling services – including certified document destruction, pre-consumer plastic recycling, and electronics destruction and recycling.

Our success soon required a move to a larger facility with greater recyclable material processing capabilities – including higher capacity baling equipment to better service our expanding range of customers. We chose an ideal location off exit 5A (Simon Street) in Nashua, New Hampshire, where today we have close to 30 dedicated employees supported by a growing fleet of trailers, tractors, box trucks and document destruction vehicles.

Representing the third generation of the Vellucci family in the recycling business, I have three simple goals:

  • Continue our family commitment to providing the highest quality recycling services with maximum return to our customers - small, medium and large sized New England companies from Maine to Rhode Island.

  • Leverage our broad expertise and deep experience to help customers get the best value out of the particular recycling programs they want and need most.

  • Stay flexible to adapt to the changing business environment and customer needs by constantly monitoring recycling trends and seeking state-of-the-art technologies that allow us to develop new recycling solutions for an expanding array of materials.

  • Our dedication to providing personalized, one-on-one support for each and every customer makes us an ideal alternative to those large conglomerates that won’t take the time to really know your business and your needs. Our customers appreciate our attention to timely, reliable, quality services – and you will, too.

Why recycle?

  • Recycling reduces costs and saves real money for your business.
Recycling reduces the cost of doing business, generates additional revues from valuable scrap paper and materials, consolidates your vendors, and saves valuable storage space.
  • Recycling is good for our environment.
Recycling conserves our natural resources and energy and reduces water pollution, air pollution, landfill space, and green house gas emissions that impact global warming.
  • Recycling is good for your employees.
Your employees will be feel good about your efforts to recycle. By implementing a recycling program, you're letting your employees (and vendors) know that you care about your community and the environment. And recycling lowers the risks of injuries and accidents, too.

Recycling makes a difference.

  • In 2007, 50% of all new paper manufactured was recycled, equating to 42 million tons of recyclable material that would have otherwise ended up in landfills.

  •  Recycling creates jobs – SIX times as many jobs as conventional land filling.

  • Recycling a single day’s printing of The New York Times Sunday edition would save 75,000 trees.

  • Recycling aluminum saves 95% of the energy needed to produce new aluminum from raw materials. Recycling one ton of aluminum saves as much energy as the amount of electricity the average home uses over 10 years.

  •  The 36 billion aluminum cans dumped in landfills last year had a scrap value of more than $600 million.

  •  Every year we produce enough plastic film to shrink-wrap the entire state of Texas.

  • About 70% of all metal is used just once and discarded (only 30% is recycled).

  • American businesses throw away enough scrap paper each year to fill nearly 20 Sears Towers from top to bottom.

  •  Your customers will think more highly of your business if you have a well-designed recycling program. If your business doesn’t have a solid recycling program, it should.

What we recycle.

  • Paper & paper products – We’re experts in the recycling of all types and grades of paper from printers, packaging and carton manufacturers, corrugated box manufacturers and specialty paper manufacturers. We have years of recycling experience with virtually any paper products, documents, cardboard, etc. – loose, rolled or baled.
  • Plastics –Many plastic products and materials have poor biodegradability and can take hundreds of years to decompose. Let Recycling Associates help you recycling all of your pre-consumer plastics, in whole form, regrind or baled. If you’ve got bubble wrap, shrink wrap, plastic packaging, or plastic recyclable material, you should be recycling. You’ll be doing the right thing for the environment – and saving money, too.
  • Metal items – Let Recycling Associates help you recycle your aluminum printing plates (litho plates) or baled wire. Recycling these common metal products will reduce pollution caused by emissions, save resources, and reduces landfills.
  • E‐Waste –According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), an estimated 30 to 40 million PCs will be ready for 'end-of-life management' in each of the next few years.
  • Other waste materials – Recycling Associates offers a wide range of recyclable material removal and recyclable material brokering services for other materials such as high grade fiber (all pulp and deinking grades baled), low grade fiber (news paper/cardboard) and plastics in full truck quantities.

Your satisfaction is everything to us.

We’re only as good as our customers say we are. So we have to strive every day to ensure your total satisfaction – it’s our primary goal. Here’s just some of the things Recycling Associates has done to make us ideally suited to meet your needs:

  • We have our own processing facility – right here in Nashua, NH to ensure your waste is recycled properly and in compliance with all local, state and federal laws. (Many recycling companies simply send their recyclable material out for processing. We don’t! We take full ownership of processing your waste to make sure it’s done right).
  • We have our own trucks – so you can rely on our courteous, professional staff to be there on time and remove your recyclable material promptly and cleanly. Many recycling companies pay third parties to pick up your recyclable material. We send our trucks with our staff so you can trust they’ll get it done right and on time, and we offer a range of trucks and equipment – 48’-53’ tractor trailers, box trucks, roll off trucks, and onsite document destruction vehicles at our disposal. Our equipment; vertical balers, horizontal balers, compactors, air systems, shredders and much more. If you need any type of recycling equipment we can provide it.
  • We have space – so we don’t let our processing of recyclable material back up. That means we can remove your recyclable material out of your facility when you need us to – with no unnecessary delays. Many recycling companies use third-party processing centers, which means they can sometimes get backed-up, waiting for space to become available, resulting in delays for you. We own our facility and have ample space (30,000 square feet of it!) – so you can be sure we’re ready to remove your recyclable material when you need us to.
  • We have the experience – to get it done right the first time. You’ve got a business to run, and the last thing you need to worry about is recyclable material removal and recycling. Recycling Associates is built on over three generations of trusted recycling experience. Our superb reputation reflects our years of real-world experience helping businesses like yours build safe recycling programs they can rely on.
