Green Monster e-Cycling, one of Connecticut’s first electronic recycling facilities, was founded in 2007. Green Monster had modest beginnings, working out of a garage in West Hartford. The facility headquarters is now housed in a 20,000 SF processing center, and services everyone from home users to Fortune 500 companies.Founder, Joe Galiatsatos, realized that literally tons of electronics were packing landfills locally, or being exported in an unsafe manner, so he took the initiative to do something about it.Green Monster has a zero-landfill policy and abides by the strictest guidelines set forth by the EPA to de-manufacture, sort and recycle end-of-life electronics and in the safest and most ethical manner.Each year Green Monster has been able to at minimum triple the amount of electronics recycled, preventing toxins from making their way into our environment, as well as putting precious resources back in to use for newly manufactured products.Newly designed town programs, school and community programs, and increasing relations with commercial businesses means our services are making a greater difference day by day.Everyone should recycle their old electronics, and we are here to be your #1 Source to do so.We’re proud to play a part in making our future a cleaner and safer place. • Data Security – We wipe or destroy all hard drives, protecting you from identify theft and ensuring that your data is destroyed.

• Environmentally Friendly – We adhere to a strict ZERO LANDFILL POLICY. We make sure that 100% of the material we receive is recycled in an environmentally sensitive manner.

• Convenience – Drop-offs always free! We offer pick up service for businesses, and now onsite data destruction for businesses.

We have dedicated over 20,000 square feet for teardown, where we break down assets to their basic components. Components are then sorted into 4’x4′ triple-walled boxes which are passed on to refineries and smelters where precious metals are harvested during the recycling process.  By-products of these components are added to items such as concrete, fence posts, or glass during the manufacturing process.Our service includes a guarantee to eliminate your data security risk employing tested and proven data security and destruction (DOD 5220.22-M compliant) methods, either by punching a 2” hole through the hard drives or performing a DOD 5220.22-M spec data wipe of the drive via software, or both.If your town’s transfer station is looking to enter into an electronics recycling solution with a bona fide partner, please consider Green Monster e-Cycling.  We have partnered with a number of towns in Connecticut.  We will set up a container on your site for your residents’ recycling needs.  We will come as often as needed to clean it out.

Green Monster e-Cycling partners with leaders in the downstream recycling industry that have been audited and are qualified to meet our strict standards. Our partners process all electronic components in accordance with our strict  requirements. We work only with ethical, EPA-compliant recycling partners, and regularly audit and closely monitor their practices to ensure they meet all state and federal standards.Schools or Non-Profit groups who wish to raise money for their cause are encouraged to look to us to hold an “Electronics Recycling Day”.  We have held many successful events both in Connecticut and Massachusetts where we were able to raise between $3,000 and $6,000 for a single event.
