Town of Canmore
902 7th Avenue , Canmore, Alberta, Canada
Why recycle? Because it is now a Town Bylaw. The new Recyclables and Waste Disposal Bylaw was passed in 2016 and recyclables are now banned from going into garbage containers.
What does this mean for you? Keep recycling and encourage your family, friends and workplace to recycle. If you recycle something, it can be recovered and become material for a new product. Plus, it benefits business and industry. The cost of recovering raw materials from existing waste items is less than the original manufacturing process cost.
Blue recycling bins are located in your neighborhood (beside the brown garbage bins). They are set up for 3 streams of recycling: mixed paper (all paper and cardboard), glass, plastic and metal.
Recycling in Canmore is as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4
- Collect and sort your recyclable material into 3 streams: mixed paper (includes all paper and cardboard), glass, plastic and metal.
- Open your door, walk to your closest neighborhood recycling bin. (Hint… they are blue and there is one in your neighborhood)
- Activate your brain to determine which of the three slots you put your recycling in.
- Walk home
