Recycled Concrete, Mulch, Topsoil & more

The Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA) product line was the vision of Richard Smith as an organic extension of his other site work, heavy highway and demolition operations.

The other divisions were hauling massive amounts of concrete from jobs to landfills where the concrete was being buried. Richard wanted to bring the concrete back to life through recycling.

The other divisions were also buying large quantities of natural quarry aggregates for their site projects. The traditional quarry industry was going through major consolidation which left Smith with fewer quarry options which translated into less competitive pricing to meet their crushed stone needs.

The lifecycle used to end somewhat tragically at the dump, but now it regenerates itself through the crushing process with an RCA product. Thus, RJ Smith Materials was born. Our clients receive the benefit of a product that offers great strength, is earth friendly and is affordable.
