In 1977, Independence Recycling, Inc. began its crushing operation with a stationary jaw crusher at an existing dump site in Garfield Heights, Ohio. In its first year of operation, Independence crushed a total of 50,000 tons of material. In the early 1980s, Independence grew geographically outside the Northeast Ohio region to other markets. Independence Recycling’s first job in a new market was Rickenbacker Air Force Base in Columbus, Ohio.
Today, Independence Recycling has 12 portable crushing plants and crushes an average of 50,000 tons per week. Operations for Independence Recycling continue to flourish, as the company now maintains six concrete recycling facilities in Florida and two in Ohio

Independence Recycling owns and operates 12 portable crushing plants in its fleet that range in capabilities from 150 tph to 500 tph. With impactor and jaw cone plants, Independence Recycling can perfectly match the type of plant required for your material crushing needs.
With a simple phone call to Independence Recycling, you will have the equipment needed at your site to load, crush and stockpile your material to meet specific gradation requirements with little or no involvement from the general contractor. On a large turn-key project, Independence can break, remove and haul the concrete to a designated crushing site and crush material into a final product. Stockpiling From your site, Independence Recycling has various support conveyors to maximize stockpiling and minimize the double handling of materials.
Also, Independence has several secondary crushing and screening plants to coordinate with its primary plants to produce smaller aggregates, and effectively produce tight spec requirements. Independence also has several facilities in the Cleveland area and throughout Florida to gather waste concrete and asphalt and then crush into marketable products to sell for various uses in the construction industry.
