Broad Run Recycling, based in Manassas, Virginia, is the leading recycler of mixed construction waste in the DC Metro area. The company processes more than 600 tons of construction and demolition waste a day in a 26,000-square-foot facility. Materials include wood, metals, aggregate, WDF (wood-derived fuel), rigid plastics and cardboard.

Broad Run partners with companies that want to minimize their environmental impact and get public recognition for their LEED® and other “green” activities. Broad Run is a member of the United States Green Building Council-National Capital Region and is the only facility in the Washington metro area that has been certified by the Recycling Certification Institute.Broad Run is helping to lead a national effort to create a certification and standard for the amount of waste that companies are required to recycle.   • Recycles wood that is then turned into colored mulch.
  • Processes aggregate (brick, block and concrete) which is recycled into material for road construction.
  • Bales of cardboard are shipped to paper plants to be recycled into new cardboard containers .

  • Separates the remaining dirt to be used as a bio soil; Mixture of soil, compost, and sand
