Our Company
Founded in 1979, Oxford Recycling, Inc. is a major recycling operation specializing in concrete, asphalt and wood products. During the first 20 years, Oxford Recycling has recycled more than 3 million tons of concrete, 2 million tons of asphalt and more than 1 million yards of wood. These recycled materials have been used in road and building construction, energy producing fuel and landscaping materials.
“We’ve saved a lot of space in landfills and significantly reduced the amount of new material that had to be mined in that time”, said John Kent, President of the second-generation business. Since 1984, John has served Oxford Recycling in many capacities and assumed the leadership role from his father, founder Francis Kent in 1991. With a Masters Degree in Environmental Policy and Management, John has directed Oxford Recycling toward its goal of becoming a one-stop location for recycling services and purchase of recycled products for both the commercial and private sectors. Oxford Recycling has always been a responsible community leader. In 1997, Francis Kent was awarded the Great Neighbor Award by the City of Sheridan for his work on the improvements to West Oxford Avenue. Oxford Recycling is a friend of the Denver Zoo. In 1994, we donated heavy equipment off-road tires for their elephants to play with. Oxford Recycling is a member of the Colorado Contractors Association.
