Royal Carting

Royal Carting began with a single truck in 1955 and has grown into a modern organization which remains sensitive to the needs of our customers and our environment. Today, Royal Carting operates a fleet of specialized vehicles as well as its own recycling dropoff center and two NYS DEC permitted transfer stations.Royal was a pioneer in realizing the importance of recycling in protecting our environment and has been designing recycling programs since 1977.

Community Service

HEALTH, EDUCATION, ARTS AND CULTURE
Royal Carting provides major support to our local hospitals and colleges. In addition, we have founded the Luigi and Elisa Panichi Memorial Scholarship. A college scholarship to benefit the children of Royal Carting employees.

MID-HUDSON VALLEY
Royal Carting supports hundreds of local non-profit organizations annually including the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, DARE program, Abilities First, Downs Syndrome of the Hudson Valley, Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie and DC ARC. We sponsor dozens of youth and adult athletic teams throughout the Hudson Valley.

Single Stream Recycling

Royal Carting has a fleet of single stream recycling trucks that allow customers to put all their recyclables in one container—papers, plastic, metals and other recyclable materials. The materials are separated for reuse at an approved local facility.

Waste We Can't Accept

The Dutchess County Waste to Energy facility collects household hazardous waste (for example, product containers marked 'Warning', 'Hazardous', 'Flammable', 'Poisonous', 'Corrosive', etc.) on designated Saturdays several times each year. Large Capacity Roll-Off Dumpsters

Large Capacity Roll-Off Containers ideal for house clean out, construction and demolition sites, municipal cleanups, recycling drives, and large scale special events. Royal Carting can empty and relocate containers. Excellent for items that cannot be compacted.

Ewaste

'Electronic waste'' consists of discarded electronic equipment, such as computers, office equipment, games, cell phones, refrigerators, and television sets. Components within those items are manufactured using materials which are harmful to the environment. Exposure to some of these materials, such as lead, cadmium, beryllium, or brominated flame retardants, poses a risk to workers. Many of these materials have a significant reuse value when recycled.

ABOUT EWASTE

• Rapid changes in technology, changes in media (tapes, software, MP3), falling prices, and planned obsolescence have resulted in a fast-growing surplus of electronic waste around the globe.
• An estimated 50 million tons of Ewaste are produced each year.
• An estimated 70% of heavy metals in US landfills come from discarded electronics.
• In the US, 30 million computers are discarded every year.
• UK figures say 100 million cell phones are discarded each year.
