JLM Metal Recycling, previously named Alternative Scrap Solutions, was purchased by Dave and Kathy McDonald on August 27, 2010. We made a fresh start as we opened our gate for business here in Waterford on Monday, August 30, 2010: With new ownership, new ideas and a new name.

JLM Metal Recycling is a family company, with Dave and Kathy’s daughter Jamie Maillet as Vice President & CEO and her husband, Tyler Maillet as management. When you come up the stairs and into our office, you’ll always be greeted by a friendly face.

Cash for Metal
At JLM we offer on the spot, same day cash payment for your scrap metals. Bring us your old vehicles, farm equipment, appliances – we'll take any ferrous or non-ferrous metals and turn it into cash in your pocket. Our convenient Metal Recycling Bin Service can also be arranged, with a bin placed on site at your location. All you need to do is fill it with your metals and we’ll take them away for you.

Bin Services

Our Bin Service is a great option if you have a lot of scrap metal to dispose of. Tell us where to drop the bin off, pick the size and let us know how much time you need to fill it with your scrap metal. Once your bin is full, we’ll send our truck to pick it up and haul your metals to the yard to be sorted and weighed. We transport your metals for you and you get paid for them.

Recycling Reduces the Need for Mining

Environmental issues with ore mining can include loss of biodiversity as wildlife habitats and natural land are destroyed. It can cause serious erosion and contamination of the earth. Groundwater and surface water is polluted by chemicals that are used in the mining process and acid mine drainage caused by large scale disturbance of the earth. Leaking chemicals can also negatively affect the health of the local human population. Recycled metals directly reduce the demand for production of new metal from mined ores.
