Electronics Recycling Center

VISION STATEMENT:

To create partnerships which transform the value of waste.

The Electronics Recycling Center (ERC) is a non-profit state certified collection center in San Diego that accepts all electronics, working and broken, free of charge*. We offer a safe and secure service which adheres to all mandated state and federal laws and regulations regarding the collection of e-waste.This collection center is a one-stop location where people can drop off their old electronics six days a week, and also shop for gently used electronic items. Every donation made, whether the item is working or non working, is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and we can provide you with a receipt for your donation. We also offer residential and commercial pick-up service for a nominal fee. The ERC offers the San Diego community a safe, secure, and socially responsible way to dispose of e-waste through re-selling, refurbishing, and recycling. All E-Waste Is Tax Deductible

As a registered Non-Profit under the University of San Diego, all electronics given to us are in the form of a tax-deductible donation. We accept all electronics broken or working. Your company will determine the value of the e-waste that was donated to us and can deduct them from your expense sheet. Call us or schedule an e-waste pickup and partner with us today!

Secure Data Destruction

All computers and laptops are broken down and stripped of their parts. Any items containing a hard drive will either be destroyed or wiped according to Department of Defense standards, based on your preference. This service is absolutely free! Furthermore, our recycler Cal Micro is R2 and ISO certified to operate within the state of California and ensures that the destruction of your data is safe, secure, and responsbile. Electronics Re-Sale Store

Not all electronics are ready for end-of-life disposal. The USD Electronics Recycling Center takes great pride to extend the life of all electronics to minimize wasted energy and materials. We strive to find every means possible to divert environmentally harmful items from the landfill, including re-purposing items that have not reached their end-of-life.

All items brought into the collection center are tested and evaluated to either be recycled or resold. Those items eligible to be resold are marked with clear notes and marked with a fair price. We strive to resell as many items as possible to continue the life of the electronics.

All items for sale are posted on Craigslist and available for viewing at the Electronics Recycling Center storefront. It is our mission to test these items as thoroughly as possible and research the items online to determine a fair price below what could be found elsewhere. There is no guarantee that the item purchased will stand the test of time. Please remember we are a non-profit and that these items are donated and sold as is with no refunds.
