Plastic Recyclers Southeast, Inc. was started in 1991 with a $6,000 loan, 7,000 square feet of leased warehouse space, and two employees. The initial building model revolved around the recycling and trading of post consumer, or curbside, PET and Polyethylene, but quickly transitioned to include post-industrial polymers. Within three successful years, Plastic Recyclers moved into the company's current headquarters on Church Street. The new facility initially had 30,000 square feet of warehouse space and 5,000 square feet of office space, but was expanded by 40,000 square feet in 1996.

While helping several local companies with their recycling needs, Plastic Recyclers noticed the growing need for large scale, off-site warehousing. In 1998, Plastic Recyclers purchased several acres in the neighboring town of Trinity and finished construction of 80,000 square feet before the year was out. Our company has continued to grow to meet increasing warehousing and distribution needs and now has over 300,000 square feet of warehouse space. Our staff has expanded to include educated and experienced warehouse personnel, and we continue to invest in information technology programs that help us provide solutions for almost any warehousing issues our customers may encounter.

Today, Plastic Recyclers has over 400,000 square feet of operational and warehousing space. The staff has grown to more than 35 employees and the company is continuing to expand within the plastic recycling and warehousing sectors. With the continued growth, Plastic Recyclers strives to provide the best service at the most competitive price for our customers.

RECYCLING

Every customer we work with is unique when it comes to their recycling and recovery needs. For this reason, we work closely with each customer to develop a customized recycling program that may include purchase options, logistics, and handling services. By listening to our customers and understanding their goals, we can develop a recycling program specific to their needs.

Our Process - Our process starts with an initial meeting, during which we begin to understand the needs and goals of our customer. We look at the entire manufacturing process and identify what can be recycled, how it can be collected, and what recycling methods should be used. From this point, we can begin to develop a customized recycling program.

Though the process is customized for each customer, our common services include:

• Purchase of Plastic Materials: We determine the fair market value of your plastic materials.
• Collection: We evaluate what types of materials you have, which materials are recyclable, how they are manufactured, and what is the best method for collecting the materials to be recycled.
• Custom Toll Services: We provide services, such as granulating, custom destruction, aspiration, and other toll services
• Tracking/Reporting: We provide online access to custom reports through our PRITS system, giving our customers an easier way to manage their recycling program.

• Challenge/Opportunity: One of our customers asked if we could prove, by providing evidence, that their material was continuously being damaged.

• Our Solution: We invested in the development of a robust, custom, web database – PRITS. The PRITS system was developed to track materials throughout the entire recycling process, even by the unit. This system is constantly being improved and available to every customer.

• The Results: By developing PRITS, we have given our customers online access to a searchable database and reports. The information is at their fingertips and can be accessed when they need it, saving them time and worry.

We are always accepting new buyers. We recycle many different types of plastics and can provide pictures and samples of the plastics that we have available based on your specific needs. WAREHOUSING

In recent years, we noticed many of our local manufacturers increasing need for off-site warehousing. In an effort to help streamline their inventory management, we added significant amounts of warehouse space and now offer distribution and logistical services. Our warehouses are located in Trinity, AL, near major transportation routes, and are convenient to many of the industries in the Tennessee Valley area.

We have over 300,000 square feet of warehouse space dedicated to distribution and inventory management services. Our services include, but are not limited to, the storage and handling of raw, semi-finished, and finished goods, as well as customized networking and reporting capabilities. There are several lease options available that can be customized based on individual needs.
