IMS Electronics Recycling
2401 St. Francis Lane , Vancouver, Washington, United States
In 1954, Charles M. Davis, a mechanical engineer, founded a California based recycling company known as IMS Recycling Services. Now one of San Diego’s oldest and largest non-ferrous recycling companies, IMS recycles a broad range of materials including; aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, high temperature alloys, copper nickel, fibers (cardboard, mixed paper, newspaper), CRV items (PET, HDPE, glass), and more. Dedicated to helping businesses achieve green initiatives and reduce carbon footprints, IMS Recycling Services continues to offer customers a dynamic approach to large-scale recycling, with the flexibility to adapt to changing markets.
In the early 1970’s, IMS, with the help of Alcoa Aluminum, developed an aluminum can reclamation program to effectively analyze the environmental impact and profit potential of recycling aluminum cans. Shortly after, the need to automate various operational processes became evident. Seizing the opportunity, Mr. Davis invented the first aluminum can flattener – the CP100 – for use within his own yard. The equipment rapidly gained attention from prospective buyers and to answer the increasing demands for this machinery, CP Manufacturing was incorporated in 1977.
Over the years, as the business continued to expand, additional companies were established to address other industrial needs, including; Handy Metal Mart, MSS, Inc., Krause Manufacturing, Inc., and KMI Sea-Lift, Inc. This family of subsidiary companies became known as CP Global.
In 2007, a special division was added to CP Global, to develop processes for the special handling needs of electronics. IMS Electronics Recycling, presenting customers with the opportunity of full environmental compliance, assists businesses with IT Asset Management, Data Destruction, and is also a responsible recycler of electronics, including; computers, televisions, telecommunications systems, Universal Waste such as CRTs, and more. IMS Electronics now operates nationwide facilities.
Today, CP Global is still owned and operated by the Davis family. Armed with over five decades of knowledge and experience, we guarantee our clientele an unmatched expertise in the recycling industry. We continually aim to provide customer service that far exceeds expectations, to offer innovative and quality recycling in an environmentally responsible, fiscally sound manner, and to create opportunities for our workforce to achieve personal and professional growth, while meeting and exceeding corporate initiatives and goals.
'We provide sustainable solutions for the management of retired IT Assets. Through continual improvement processes, IMS Electronics strives to meet the needs of our customers, employees, and the environment. Communication is the foundation for our relationships with our customers, please contact us with any questions or feedback.'

OUR CREDIBILITY
- ISO 9001 is the most globally instituted quality framework and establishes the standard not only for quality management systems, but also management systems in general. This standard assists various organizations with succeeding through improved customer satisfaction, staff motivation, and continual improvement.
- OHSAS 18001 is the standard providing structure for managing Health and Safety Management responsibilities through an Occupational Health and Safety Management System, compatible with the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. The goal of this standard is to reduce the risk to employees, as well as other interested parties, and to aid in legislation compliance.
- ISO 14001 is an internationally distinguished standard for implementing an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). This “Go Green” standard is aimed to recognize the delicate balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact.
- The Responsible Recycling (R2) standard endeavors to create a voluntary, market-based mechanism for ensuring best practices, which would also provide vital information and assurance to prospective customers. This comprehensive standard integrates environmental, health and safety management; media sanitization; export and disposal restrictions; chain of custody accountability; and transportation controls.
WHAT IS E- WASTE?
As we transition from old to new, we leave behind a wake of discarded, obsolete, and sometimes archaic machines. As we increase our knowledge in technology, the lifespan of electronic products continues to diminish in length, forcing the aged devices to rapidly assemble in volume. This large, growing mass of unwanted electronics is known as E-Waste.
RECYCLING
IT Assets not approved for reuse, or those that have reached their End of Life, will be dismantled to remove toxic materials and will be shredded to refine for commodities such as; steel, aluminum, plastic, circuit boards, etc.
