United Recycling & Container has been serving the Snohomish and King County communities for 20 years. Our operation began as a recycling center, processing brush, dirt, clean wood and concrete. Since then, we added a sorting process to our facility and now there are several more materials that we accept. In 2005, we began our container division, making recycling more accessible, as well as economical in King and Snohomish Counties. Our evolution continues, as we are always looking for new markets to accept our recycled materials, ultimately increasing the amount of material we extract in our sorting process and reducing the amount of material that ends up in landfills. If you don’t see a type of material listed on our website, feel free to ask us – we are constantly adding materials to our processing list.

Our recycling center is licensed, bonded, insured and properly permitted to give you peace of mind. Our customers can be assured we are recycling as much of the material as possible. In fact, on average we exceed a 90% recycling rate! We are proud to be an approved recycling facility of Seattle Public Utilities, based on multiple facility audits in 2014 that validated the quality of our sorting process and high recycling rates.

In addition, several of the materials accepted are recycled into products that we can offer back locally, including crushed concrete, crushed asphalt, organic hog fuel, organic black bark and topsoil.

 INDUSTRIAL MATERIALS

There are several non-hazardous industrial materials that can be easily recycled. Each material may be recycled in a variety of diverse applications while still maintaining many of the same chemical and physical properties as the virgin materials they replace. For example, the use of coal fly ash can enhance the strength and durability of concrete. Putting these commodities into productive use saves resources and energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and contributes to a sustainable future.

PLASTICS

Plastics are lightweight and strong, which is why modern society uses plastic to package just about every consumer product, and fabricate durable parts for industry. Although there is a strong plastic recycling effort in the United States, plastic still ends up in landfills.
