Western Recycling

Western Recycling was originally incorporated in 1976.The current owners have owned and operated the business since 1979. Originally Western had one location with approximately 6500 square feet of warehouse/production space. Western now operates in six locations in Idaho.  Boise, Nampa, Fruitland, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, Pocatello. The company is employee owned. Western processes over 100,000 tons of cardboard, paper, plastics, aluminum cans, ferrous scrap metal, and nonferrous scrap metal each year. In 1986, through our affiliate, Western Records Destruction Inc., we expanded our services to include onsite and offsite document shredding.

Commercial/Office Recycling Programs

Business offices typically generate large quantities of recyclable items. Western Recycling offers programs that can help businesses recycle this material instead of throwing it away. Western also provides confidential records destruction through its affiliate Western Records Destruction Inc. Material for recycling can be delivered to one of our facilities or we can provide containers and a mobile pickup service. The following grades of material can be collected and recycled from most businesses:

• Newspaper/Magazines
• Aluminum Cans
• Plastics   
• We can often recycle material that is not listed as well – just ask us.

We currently do not provide any pickup services for glass.

ACCEPTED ITEMS IN THE CONTAINER INCLUDE:

o Mixed Paper Products – Newspapers, Magazines, Phone Books, Catalogs, Cardboard Boxes, Cereal Boxes, Frozen Food Boxes, Paper Towel Cores, Office Paper, Note Pads, Index Cards, Coated Paper, Brochures, Envelopes, Manila Folders, Junk Mail, etc.

o Plastics – All plastic beverage, food, and household cleaner containers #1-7(must be rinsed of contents)                    

o Tin and Aluminum Cans (must be rinsed of contents)

ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE PLACED IN THE CONTAINER:

o Glass, Plastic Bags, Medical Waste, Food Waste, Packaging Materials(peanuts, bubble wrap, styrofoam).

 If you have any questions concerning whether or not a material is recyclable contact us and we’ll let you know. 

 *This comingle recycling program will also be available to businesses within the city limits.  Cost is $10.00 per month for 2 week service.
