Our equipment gets the job done!

We operate an Aljon 580 baler which on average can bale 25,000lbs/hr. We also have two (2) portable LeBounty 2500 shears on a John Deere 350 and that are able shred 2” in thickness steel. Our newest addition to the fleet is a Liebherr LH40 material handler equipped with a Liebherr grapple. We also run a Caterpillar 325D with a Anvil grapple and portable magnets that can handle 12,000lb lifts. In our scrap vehicle preparation area we use a Caterpillar 930G front end loader. We are also equipped with a John Deere 326D skid steer and several forklifts.

We at NATIONAL SALVAGE LTD. are committed to proactive health and safety management system aimed at protecting our staff, our property, our clients, the general public and the environment from injury, loss or damage.Workers at every level are responsible and accountable for the company’s health and safety performance. Active participation by everyone, everyday, is necessary for the safety excellence this company expects.Management will set an example and provide leadership in the health and safety program. Management will set work procedures and provide safety equipment and training. Supervisors and workers are responsible for the following all practices and procedures, with an awareness of health and safety, and cooperating in achieving improved health and safety conditions at work.Workers at every level are to be familiar with the requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to their work process. Contractors, suppliers and visitors to NATIONAL SALVAGE LTD. are required to adhere to this policy and legislated safety requirements.Our goal is to be a leader in loss control management in our field and provide a healthy injury free work place for all workers. By working together, in all parts of this program, we will achieve this goal.

Stuff We Just Can’t Take

Any items that contain or may contain coolant such as Freon of any type (fridges, airconditioning units etc.) must be professionally evacuated prior to bringing it for salvage.

Safety first! Safety and environmental concerns are of paramount importance at National Salvage. Our company has established requirements for shipments entering our facility. If you have any of the items listed below please contact our scrap manager for assistance before shipping, as we do not accept any hazardous materials.

  • Acetylene or Freon tanks
  • Asbestos
  • Closed Steel Drums
  • Hazardous Scrap: (any metals that have been used in areas where designated substances, dangerous
  • chemicals or biological agents are in or are a part of the scrap)
  • Paint
  • Propane Tanks must have core removed
  • Radioactive Waste Sealed Containers Oxygen
  • Transformers and Capacitors must be certified free of PCBs and any other residue
  • Unclean Steel Drums (must be steamed out)
  • Unspent Air bag containers
  • Volatiles Ballasts with PCBs
  • 200 gallon Oil Tanks (unless they are cut in half and free of any liquids)
