Erickson Metals was founded in 1972, by Richard H. Erickson, to serve quality conscious eyelet industry customers. Throughout the 1970’s, the growing aluminum warehousing and distribution center expanded in and around Waterbury, Connecticut, an area historically known for it’s eyelet and metal stamping industries. In 1984, Erickson Rolling Mills, a division of Erickson Metals Corporation, was established. It is a state-of-the-art rolling facility, employing the most modern technology for metal processing. Our Connecticut facility, including corporate head quarters, is located in a spacious, custom designed plant in the Cheshire Industrial Park. Full-line aluminum service centers in Minnesota and Colorado were opened in the early 1980’s, along with our New Mexico facility opening in the early 2000’s, broadening distribution capabilities to customers for flat sheet, plate, rod, bar, and extruded products.
Erickson Metals is a privately held company committed to supplying personal service along with the finest metal products. Since our inception in 1972, we have maintained an unaltered goal of providing outstanding quality and service to every one of our valued customers. To achieve our goal, we begin with extensive training of each and every employee emphasizing our commitment to our customers’ satisfaction. We carefully select quality vendors to supply our raw materials, and our production process is closely monitored and controlled. Our commitment for the future will not change. We know that to maintain our competitive advantage in today’s international market we must continue to provide extraordinary service and high quality material.
ALUMINUM ANNEALING
Erickson provides a complete range of tempers precisely tailored to each application, from 0-temper (soft) to full hard tempers. When you want to bend aluminum into a less-accessible shape, annealing offers a solution. The process involves heating it close to the melting point, and then allowing the material to slowly cool. In response, the material’s crystalline structure softens, making it more malleable.Erickson Metals’ computer controlled, inert gas annealing furnaces enable us to produce stain-free material with minimum surface oxides, fine grain size, and mechanical properties consistently throughout the coils.
What can we do
- Our equipment can soften and bend wrought and cast aluminum alloys.
- We offer full and partial annealing.
- Our computer-controlled furnaces handle small to large loads.
- Our facilities offer a quick turnaround.
For heat-treating and annealing aluminum, our facilities offer efficient, thorough, and professional service. When your project requires formed or bended aluminum, contact any of our four locations to learn more.
ALUMINUM ROLLING
Rolling gives a piece of aluminum a uniform thickness from start to end. For this, the metal is passed through a series of rollers that thin it out and make it even all over. Using hot and cold rolling, the process creates a precisely-cut coil with a high-quality finish.Employing state-of-the-art equipment, Erickson Metals is able to roll uniform thickness throughout a coil, holding gauge tolerance far closer than commercial standards.
Erickson Metals maintains the most advanced equipment in our modern plants. Our facilities process sheet, plate, rod, bar and extruded aluminum for customers in many industries, which include high technology and aerospace applications.
SERVICES
Sawing: Get superior-cut aluminum pieces for your job or application. Our precision services incorporate multiple saws to cut through hollow and solid shapes. We handle a wide range of lengths and thicknesses, as well as large and small pieces, with quick turnaround on your request each time.Shearing: This fabrication process cuts perfectly-straight lines through flat aluminum sheets. But that’s not all. Our facility’s capabilities allow us to produce of geometric lines through the metal, from perfectly perpendicular to very close parallel lines.
This process meeting ANSI and ASTM standards:
- Can handle aluminum sheets of varying thicknesses.
- Is available for a range of metal stocks.
- Is done specifically to your wants and needs, including custom sizes.
- Makes a large piece of aluminum easier to manage.
