The Service We Provide

• Western Disposal is a local family-owned business that started in 1970 with one truck and a vision of what customers would value in a trash collection company: dependable, on-time service from friendly, well-trained employees.
• During the 45+ years we have been in business, we have evolved into a company with 150 employees, over 70 vehicles on the road each day and over 39,000 residential and commercial customers. We attribute this success to our commitment to provide the best service to all our customers every day.
• Even though we are literally all over town every day, we have one of the best safety records in our industry; we have won the Pewter Stag award several times from the Hartford Insurance Company for our safety record and our safety programs. In fact our drivers are incented based on their safety and customer service records, NOT on how quickly they complete routes!
• If you call Western Disposal, you will be able to easily access a live customer service representative who can answer your questions or help you with your concerns.
• Monthly, we randomly survey our customers concerning their satisfaction with our service. We average over a 50% response rate to our surveys with 96% of respondents reporting they are more than satisfied with our service. We respond to every comment expressing dissatisfaction. We also ask customers for their suggestions to change or enhance our services. Many of the services we currently provide are the result of suggestions from our customers.

 Trash & Recycle Center

Hauling your own trash? Why take the time to drive all the way to a landfill? We operate a convenient public disposal site at our facility on the eastern edge of the city of Boulder. Come to our Trash & Recycle Center at 5880 Butte Mill Rd in Boulder, CO. We accept trash, scrap metal, recyclable material, scrap lumber and more. Cleaning up the yard? Western operates the yard and wood waste drop off site on behalf of the City of Boulder and Boulder County; residents recieve a 40% discount.

Recycling provides direct, tangible benefits to your community and your environment. The business of recycling creates jobs, spurs investment and sparks innovation. Environmentally, it conserves natural resources, saves energy, and reduces pollution. The EPA estimates that 75% of our waste is recyclable – 75%! That’s a lot of power to do good, right in your hands, just by choosing the right bin and occasionally, thinking outside the bin.

Recyclables

For residents who are not our regular collection customers, businesses with occasional recycling needs or anyone looking to recycle conveniently in Boulder, our Trash & Recycle Center accepts many common materials.
Most of the waste stream is made up of recyclable or compostable materials. If you have clean recyclable items you can drop them off for no charge at our Trash and Recycle Center located at 5880 Butte Mill Rd in Boulder.
We accept materials listed in our guidelines; other items may be accepted at the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials.

Western customers recycle over 500,000 pounds of metals and appliances through our facility each year. If you bring us your clean segregated scrap metal and appliances, rather than taking them to a landfill or putting them out for trash, you avoid waste and save virgin materials for future generations.
