Drywall Recycling Services Inc - Seattle

7201 E. Marginal Way S , Seattle, Washington, United States

The Georgetown site is Seattle's premier receiver and processor of construction, and demolition debris. Georgetown accepts commingled loads of recyclable waste materials from construction projects and sorts those loads into re-usable and recyclable commodities. We separate recyclables for hard-to-manage construction, demolition and land debris materials.

Construction, demolition and land clearing waste represents over 25% of the material sent to landfills in Seattle. These materials can be recovered to help increase diversion rates and preserve our precious resources. Drywall Recycling Services creates jobs, reduces fuel consumption and preserves the natural environment. And, believe it or not, our rates are usually lower than the rates charged by companies that send these materials directly to landfills!

Our 7201 E. Marginal Way facility is a full-scale commingled Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in south Seattle that is capable of processing up to 60,000 tons of recyclable materials per year. This site recovers wood, metals, cardboard, paper, drywall, hard and soft plastics, clean styrofoam, cloth/rag, mattresses, tires, concrete, asphalt, brick, ceramics, styrofoam, and polyurethane foam. This list may change due to advances in our ability to recover additional materials.

We started Drywall Recycling Services Inc. as environmentally passionate people who knew they could find a way to reduce the amount of construction debris being dumped into our landfills. Our creative and ingenious people paved the way for developing innovative ways to scrap, collect, and recycle construction debris and drywall materials. Our goal is to become one of the largest construction waste recycling companies in America and be recognized as a leader in the recycling community.Drywall Recycling Services is a Wyoming corporation based in Bothell, WA and was incorporated in May 2009. The staff has over 30 years experience in the recycling industry. Our daily mission is to keep construction waste out of our landfills. With a wide range of customized recycling services for commercial and residential construction sites, we're making a positive impact on the community and the environment. Our primary business is recycling construction site debris from job sites, demolition sites, remodels and residential homes. Our processing facilities recycle 100% of the clean wood and drywall materials we receive. Once recycled into new products, we ship recycled gypsum and paper products to manufacturing and agricultural companies throughout the Northwest.

For all of your Pacific Northwest recycling needs

Drywall Recycling Services accepts a variety of construction site and demolition materials that will be recycled into new or reused products. Our trained staff safely sorts through the materials and organizes all of them into the correct containers so that each type of material can be recycled properly. We have a number of recycling facilities located in the greater Seattle area.We believe that disposing of building debris is an important issue facing the construction and demolition industry and that 'green building' is an essential element to better building practices. Utilizing recycled materials in new construction reduces costs and eliminates the majority of building waste which would otherwise be added to our regional landfills. The benefits of recycling include lowering the amount of waste in landfills and requiring less energy to create new products. Recycling also helps reduce the amount of harmful greenhouse gases in our atmosphere and can reduce CO2 emissions by 95%. In theory, recycling allows materials to be continually reused for the same purpose, or to be re-engineered into completely new products.During our daily mission of helping to protect the environment, we strive to care for our customers with the same passion. Our goal is to make your visit convenient and efficient. To do so, We support L.E.E.D., a program by the United States Green Building Council and BUILT GREEN of Washington State, a cooperative effort to promote Green Building practices.

Construction Waste

Drywall waste accounts for 11% by volume and 26% by weight of construction debris.Wood waste accounts for 24% by volume and 42% by weight. If you factor drywall waste at 20% of the square footage of drywall hung, waste for one house would weigh 1.38 tons!
