Alro Industrial Supply began in 1964 in Jackson, Michigan to provide cutting tools, abrasives and die supplies to all of Alro Steel’s existing customer base. Taking advantage of extra space during a warehouse expansion at that time, Alro was able to purchase a local industrial supply company going out of business, and incorporate the new products into the mix. 

Alro Industrial Supply offers a comprehensive Tool Management System. Alro’s proprietary SmartCell system allows customers of all sizes to implement a simple electronic replenishment solution that will allow tools to be dispensed at the point-of-use. Our access to a variety of different machine styles to dispense various consumables no matter what the shape and size, makes Alro your choice for tool vending. 

Alro Industrial Supply also offers a complete lineup of services to improve plant productivity. Alro’s Tooling Application Specialists will assist with machining improvements to increase throughput and plant productivity. Alro offers a host of additional value added services including gage calibration, coolant management, documented cost savings, band saw blade welding and customer in-plant training.

Al began the company during a steel shortage in the 1940's which was due to the military demands of World War II. Al found a niche matching up companies with steel needs to companies with excess steel. Today, Alro has grown to over 60 locations in 12 states.
