When Rick Mechanic, Art Arnstein and Steve Lewinsky formed a partnership in March of 2003, they brought together a family tradition of Milwaukee recycling that dates back to the beginning of the 20th Century.Together, they have built a company that not only keeps alive a heritage of recycling in Milwaukee, but has moved ahead into the new technologies and innovations of the 21st Century.In the fall of 2013, UMS merged with Schulz’s Recycling, creating a greater presence in Wisconsin with eight facilities statewide.

United Milwaukee Scrap LLC buys, processes, and sells scrap metals generated from industry, obsolete materials, plant tear downs, construction, and other sources. Our combined experience and history in Milwaukee dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.
