Encore Metals Inc-Delta

7470 Vantage Way, Tilbury Industrial Park, Delta, British Columbia, Canada

Encore Metals has been supplying specialty steels to Western Canada and the United States since 1892. Our lineage can be traced back to strong affiliations with British and European steel makers. Initially, the company stocked mining and tool steels to support the timber and natural resource industries. Gradually the range of steels was extended to include machinery and spring steels and stainless steel before WWII. These were probably the first such inventories on the West coast of Canada.

Today we have locations in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Winnipeg.

We are specialist suppliers of high grade steel and metal, including carbon and alloy machinery steels, an extensive range of stainless steels, including duplex grades, nickel alloys, iron bar, aluminum and bronze.

Processing services provided include bar sawing, trepanning, stainless plate profiling and plate sawing. Our suppliers are all mills of high repute with facilities that employ the latest steelmaking technology. As a result, our products are backed by the most advanced metallurgical and research facilities available.

Encore Metals has been supplying specialty steels to Western Canada since 1892. In the early days stocks mainly consisted of mining and tool steels, which were supplied directly to the mines and logging camps. Gradually the range of steels was extended to include alloy machinery steels and spring steels and shortly before World War II, very small quantities of stainless steel. These were probably the first such inventories in Vancouver, British Columbia

The discovery of oil at Leduc, Alberta, in 1947 led us into the 'oil-patch' market. Today, we have Service Centres in Edmonton and Calgary stocking a full range of high-grade carbon, alloy and stainless steels to AISI, ASTM, API and NACE specifications.

The late '70s and early '80s brought many new developments. Market opportunities lead to a new branch being established in Winnipeg in 1989. Continued growth and a focus upon enhanced customer service supported a move in 1990 to an expanded Head Office and Service Centre in Delta, British Columbia. The Edmonton branch moved into a new warehouse in 1992, the Calgary branch facility was twinned in 1996 and the Winnipeg facility tripled in size in 2002.

Since 1892 we've had a few name changes. In the beginning we were Charles Cammell and Company, then Cammell Laird, English Steel, J.T. Coutts, Coutts Special Steels, BSC Alloys, British Steel Alloys, Corus Metals and in 2004 we became Encore Metals. Encore Metals is a division of Reliance Metals Canada Limited, which also includes Team Tube. Reliance Metals Canada Limited is a subsidiary of Reliance Steel and Aluminum Co.
