History
Conecsus LLC was founded in 1980 by its predecessor, ECS Refining Texas LLC, as an electronic scrap and solder dross recycling facility primarily servicing the Silicon Valley. From its first facility in Santa Clara, California, ECS Refining established a reputation of environmental leadership in the refining of secondary metals by offering unique capabilities to develop responsible recycling options for businesses.
In the fall of 1996 ECS Refining began operating a Tin/Lead recycling facility in Terrell, Texas, a city located 30 miles east of Dallas. Originally constructed in 1991 on land that had been agricultural, this plant was formerly a lead-acid battery recycling plant before it was purchased by ECS. In early February 2012 a private equity firmed partnered with the electronic scrap recycling arm of ECS Refining, retained the name ECS, and gave the Tin/Lead recycling facility in Terrell the opportunity to develop its own unique identity that is now called Conecsus.
ECS has developed a stellar reputation with City of Terrell officials, the Terrell Economic Development Council, and Terrell’s residents over the past 14 years, a reputation embraced and continued by Conecsus. Conecsus provides a stable and growing source of employment to the community, actively purchases goods and services from local businesses, and is an ardent supporter of local charitable organizations such as the Kiwanis Club.
