We offer curbside recycling pick-up service to County residents. NO SORTING NECESSARY!!To residents & businesses located in the West and Central Wilkes County High School Districts. Wilkes County is very large and we have to start somewhere but we do plan to expand our service area as demand for our service increases. If you don't live in either of the districts we are now servicing please email us your name and address and we will put your name on our list. This is how we will determine where to expand first!

We are a family of four, we live in Millers Creek and we recycle, a lot! We have three 18 gallon recycle bins in our garage that we fill up every 10-14 days. Unlike those lucky people who live within the city limits and have curbside recycling pick-up service, at the end of that 10-14 day period we have to load up our car & haul the bins to a drop off site. Let's face it, it's not fun to do all that work so we decided that if we felt that way, there must be plenty of other fellow recyclers out there with the same sentiment. Thus A Greener World Recycling, inc. was born.For those people who already recycle, we want to make your efforts a little easier to keep the planet and, more locally, Wilkes County clean. And, for those folks who aren't currently making recycling a priority...hopefully, we can change your minds. We feel that recycling is a personal responsibility of everyone who creates waste - and that includes all of us. No one wants to live near a landfill yet not everyone will expend the little time & effort it takes to recycle. Let's be good stewards of our environment and work together to build a greener, healthier Wilkes County!

HOW THE SERVICE WORKS:

• Our monthly charge is only $10 which is a GREAT VALUE!!! We accept checks only, at this time. You can pay quarterly or yearly, your choice. There will be a one time $5 charge for your bin. Customers who choose to pay a year in advance will get one month free! Pay only $110 for an entire year! Please click on the Contact Us/Sign Up tab and fill out the information form.
• Your part is simple... as you go through your daily routine, just put all acceptable recyclable waste in your recycle bin instead of your trash can. Then the night or morning before your pick-up just place your bin at the end of your driveway.
• Every other week we will come to your curbside and collect your recyclable materials from your bin and leave you with an empty bin to continue your support of a clean & healthy environment.
• Once we've collected all the materials we'll deliver them to our local 'MRF' or Material Recovery Facility. They will then sort the materials and prepare them for sale on the secondary market.
• Planning a Special Event? We are also available to help make your festivals, fundraisers, cookouts, etc. GREEN. Whatever your occasion may be we can come in and make sure that you're doing your part in keeping Wilkes County beautiful. Please call for details and pricing.

Non-Acceptable Material:

• Styrofoam of any kind even if marked with recyling symbol
• Wax Coated pasteboard (Orange juice containers, juice boxes etc.)
• Tissue & Toilet Paper (but the cardboard rolls are acceptable)
• Flower flats/pots flimsy or sturdy
• No take-out containers
• Six pack rings
• Plastic Wrap
• Ribbon & Bows

• Antifreeze
• TV & Computer Equip
• Motor Oil
• Fluorescent lights
• Oil Filters
• Mercury thermostats
• Scrap Tires
• Oyster Shells
• Lead Acid Batteries
