Casting of pure metals and alloys
Vacuum arc melting
Induction melting
Rod and wire drawing/extrusion
Sheet, foil and ribbon rolling
CNC milling and machining

ESPI was incorporated in 1950 with a company mission to provide a single, reliable source for researcher's high purity metalsmetal compounds and metal alloys for research & development and manufacturing. This mission continues today, after more than sixty years.

ESPI's continuing goal is to supply high quality products, service, and support to our customers at competitive prices. The company began as a small business and continues to operate in the same manner today. Unlike larger organizations that are typically constrained by their size and associated bureaucracy, ESPI's flexibility enables prompt response to any customer's unique needs. We can ship orders faster, have no minimum order size, and you will always be greeted by a competent sales representative during business hours when you call...automated answering systems & voice mail will never be an option at ESPI.

Throughout our 60+ years of service we have come to be a valued resource for high purity metals for virtually all major universities, domestic and international manufacturing companies and corporate R&D laboratories worldwide, as well as most U.S. government research laboratories.

Company staffing ranges from ten to seventeen employees depending upon the time of year.   During summer months we draw a wealth of talent from our local university, Southern Oregon University, as well as the state universities: Oregon State University, and the University of Oregon.  With the help of our college interns, the summer provides an opportunity to accomplish many of the projects that would otherwise not be completed.  This website is a good example; our Internet presence is due, in large part, to our summer college interns.  Thanks go out to Caitlin and Carley for their superb effort!

The company is located in Ashland, OR, housed in two buildings comprising a total of 28,000 square feet. Building One contains our melting, forging and rod & wire departments.  Building Two comprises sheet and foil production, vacuum annealing and our CNC equipped machine shop, as well as General Management, Sales, Accounting and Shipping/Receiving.
