Second Street Iron & Metal Co., Inc is fourth generation, family owned and managed business  that offers wide variety of metal recycling services, not only to big industrial clients, but also to our much valued individual customers. Especially those who decided to tap on paddler trade recycling business. SSIM has been operating in scrap metal industry for over 100 years. Thanks to our rich experience and high level of service standards, we earned well respected reputation among local recycling businesses. Currently, we run two scrap yards: in Chelsea and Everett, where we continuously purchase all grades of steel, as well as most non-ferrous metals.   For qualified scrap material we offer immediate payment, either in cash or check, based on individual preference. What we do

Second Street Iron & Metal Co., Inc. specialize in purchasing all grades of steel, as well as most non-ferrous metals. Within an array of our interests are such metals as: iron, copper, brass, steel, bronze, zinc, various alloys and others metallic scrap. Here you can find full list of ferrous and non-ferrous metals that we buy, matched with their current prices. On top of that, we collect computer motherboards and memory units as well as catalytic converters of any kind. For all purchases we offer immediate payment, either in cash or check, based on our client's individual preference.

At Second Street Iron & Metal, we operate full size scale which can easily accommodate from regular compact vehicle to big commercial truck with trailer attached. Our scale is MA state certified and calibrated regularly.
Most of the times quick visual inspection is enough to estimate type and value of scrap material, if necessary, we can also use our scientific analyzer to get immediate composition of measured metal.At our facility, we also offer Free Vehicle Weighing. Entire process is quick and at no charge. Just pull on the scale and receive your weight slip. Due to high volume of traffic, at our yard, we recommend to call us in advance and announce your visit ahead.
