USD Electronics Recycling Center

Our mission is to extend the useful life of electronics by inspiring the San Diego community to re-use, re-purpose, re-imagine, and as a last resort, to responsibly recycle.

The Electronics Recycling Center (ERC) is a non-profit state certified collection center in San Diego that accepts all electronics, working and broken, free of charge*. We offer a safe and secure service which adheres to all mandated state and federal laws and regulations regarding the collection of e-waste.This collection center is a one-stop location where people can drop off their old electronics six days a week, and also shop for gently used electronic items. Every donation made, whether the item is working or non working, is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and we can provide you with a receipt for your donation. Our motto is: “If it plugs in or takes a charge, we’ll take it!”We also offer residential and commercial pick-up service for a nominal fee. The ERC offers the San Diego community a safe, secure, and socially responsible way to dispose of e-waste through re-selling, refurbishing, and recycling.

The Electronics Recycling Center (ERC) is proud to partner with numerous businesses and non-profits, both local and national. Our partners care about the environment as much as we do and provide continuous support to help us recycle electronics properly.

Where E-Waste Goes

USD’s Electronics Recycling Center works with Cal Micro Recycling to properly recycle the e-waste we collect. Cal Micro Recycling is a local recycling company that is R2 Certified and ISO Certified. These certifications ensure environmentally sound health and safety-focused operation in addition to a no landfill policy. Cal Micro Recycling must adhere to the highest standard of environmental responsibility and worker protection. All e-waste is kept in the United States and is broken down and recycled in a proper manner.

Host an E-Waste Drive

Does your company want to really achieve green sustainability? Partner with us and host an e-waste drive at your company or organizaitions’s location! The event drive will give your employees an easy way to recycle their unwanted electronics (from their home and their office). It will also provide an easy way for your IT department to create more space and clean out the old clutter. We will provide large bins for recycling items and pick them up when you are ready!
