At Don Mills Steel and Metal we recognize our responsibility for the Health & Safety of our workplace and have implemented a policy to prevent, control and guard against risks of occupational injury and adverse health effects that may arise during the course of business activities.

Our Health & Safety Policy has been implemented to meet the obligations of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other applicable regulations and standards. Our objective is to work together to continuously improve the health and safety of our workplace. Safety is our core valueand we commit to providing a Safe and Healthy Work Environment for all employees, customers, visitors and stakeholders.

A Joint Health and Safety Committee has been organized to ensure that a safe and healthy workplace has been created. This has been done by taking responsibility to ensure that the Health & Safety Program results in safety procedures that are easy to implement and in compliance with the law.

Tire Recycling at No Charge

The Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) program offers a managed solution for on-road and off-road tires consumed in the Ontario market. It is aimed at reducing landfill waste by recycling used tires into a variety of products for home, commercial and industrial uses. From playgrounds and hockey rinks to rubber automotive parts, there are several uses for recycled tires.

Ferrous Metals

Don Mills Steel And Metal is one of the GTA's oldest and most efficiently operating ferrous scrap yards. We purchase metal scrap from numerous sources, including: large industrial accounts, scrap metal dealers, construction and demolition contractors, government agencies and the general public. Also, we market our scrap to a wide variety of steel mills, foundries and smelters, both domestically and across North America. Our scrap yard is organized with separate sorting areas so customers can be served quickly and effectively.

Non-Ferrous Metals

At Don Mills Steel And Metal we collect, sort, and process a wide variety of non-ferrous materials received from scrap metal dealers, industrial accounts, construction and demolition contractors, government agencies and the general public.

Our non-ferrous warehousing operation has a reputation for being one of the most honest and efficient buying scales in the GTA. The types of non-ferrous materials that we buy/sell include all types of: aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, lead, zinc, catalytic converters and specialty alloys. These recycled materials are eventually shipped to primary and secondary mills and smelters throughout Canada and North America, which in turn recycle it into high grade materials that are purchased by manufacturers.
