Peel Scrap Metal Recycling Ltd
2301 Anson Drive, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
PEEL SCRAP METAL RECYCLING LTD has been operating and serving customers in the Greater Toronto Area since 1990. With a long tradition in the scrap metal recycling industry, Peel was founded on the core principles of friendly and efficient customer service, honesty in all business dealings and complete integrity within the industry.
Reinforcing these core principles, we have an extremely well-trained staff, consistently employ responsible environmental techniques and invest in the most up-to-date technology and equipment.
These key aspects of our business have led to healthy and consistent growth and stability through long lasting relationships with many of our customers.
OUR HISTORY IN THE SCRAP INDUSTRY. Gary Dvorkin, Peel's President, is the third generation of the Dvorkin family in the scrap metal industry, the beginning of which dates back to 1918 when Gary's grandfather, David Dvorkin, established the Western Hide & Junk Company in Calgary, Alberta. In 1940, Gary's father, Ted Dvorkin, took over the family business and Gary's brother Rick came on board in 1965 followed by Gary in 1972. In 1990, Gary, with his partner and brother-in-law, Jeff Shaffer, started Peel Scrap Metal Recycling Ltd. in Mississauga.
In keeping with this family tradition, Gary's son, Jeremy Dvorkin entered the business in 2003, and is now a partner.
OUR CUSTOMER BASE falls into three main categories:
The first group is the general public: This could be anyone who is cleaning out a garage, workshop or basement and has a small or large quantity of metal they need to responsibly dispose of.
The second group are the tradespeople, construction managers, contractors, plumbers, electricians and independent scrap collectors.
Finally, we deal with companies in a wide range of industries who, through their manufacturing or service processes, have a need for our services.
AT PEEL SCRAP METAL RECYCLING LTD we have always felt strongly that the most important word in our company name is 'recycling'.
For many years before the 'green revolution' in our society began, the scrap metal recycling business was at the forefront of industries that took their environmental responsibility very seriously.
Most people recognize that recycling helps to minimize waste in our communities and maintain a healthy balance in the ecology of our planet. What is not so well known or appreciated is the fact that recycling makes it possible to significantly reduce the cost of producing products because the recycling process not only helps preserve our limited resources but also lowers the amount of energy required to produce various goods.
WE'RE AS GREEN AS WE CAN BE. While it is not possible to call ourselves a completely 'green' business, our contribution to the green solution is a substantial one, with new technologies and methodologies coming on line regularly. With the tools we have at our disposal today, we are that much more adept at playing our part in maximizing the amount of non-renewable ferrous and nonferrous metals that have a new life thanks to the efforts of our industry.
WE'RE BULLFROG POWERED: As of March 2015, we have joined the ranks of companies who have chosen clean, pollution-free energy. Our public yards in Mississauga and Oakville are bullfrogpowered with 100% green electricity.
ASSOCIATIONS & AFFILIATIONS. In order to keep learning and sharing knowledge with other companies in our industry, we have, for many years, been a proud member of TheCanadian Association of Recycling Industries. To reach out and inform other businesses in the GTA, we are members of the Mississauga and Brampton Boards of Trade, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. We welcome opportunities to participate in educational forums in our area. We are also an active partner in the various communities we serve through donations and sponsorship support for a number of community organizations and charities, as well as to individuals and team sports at all levels.
Our Services
Today’s recycling industry is nowhere near the same industry as it was even a decade ago. In today’s world, part of the basic cost of doing business in the recycling industry means investing in the equipment and machinery to manage a wide range of client needs and to do so with the least amount of environmental
impact.
TRUCKS, BINS & STORAGE
We operate a modern fleet of Roll-Off Trucks, as seen in the pictures above. These trucks have bins which range in size from 14 to 40 cubic yards in volume. We also offer a flat deck service.

SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT
In addition to the industry standard of basic cable strippers, electronic scales certified for trade and shears, Peel Scrap Metal Recycling Ltd. has recently invested in a chopping line toprocess insulated wire.
The chopping line is housed in a new facility located in Mississauga. This machine can chop and separate copper, aluminum and plastic in large volumes from most grades of insulated wire in an extremely efficient manner. The chopping line is currently being used to separate over 90% of the wire we purchase and allows us to also be able to recycle the plastic and tailings.
Another important tool in our shop is our niton analyzer which is designed to identify many different metals and more than 350 alloys. This tool is indispensable for both the evaluation and costing of metals and the precise separation for processing.
