The Waste-To-Energy division of Bi-Metal Corporation was established in 1980 to develop technology to process steel recovered from Refuse-Derived-Fuel (RDF) plants. This recovered steel was generally too contaminated with rags, paper, plastic, and other foreign matter to be marketed to steel consumers.

The Bi-Metal system is a proprietary process that converts this highly contaminated steal into a clean, dense, readily salable product without the use of water or combustion. The finished steel product produced from the Bi-Metal system is demanded by steel mills, and commands premium market prices thanks to its density and cleanliness.

The Clean Wire System (CWS) is a patented flexible membrane classifier designed to improve the quality of steel wire recovered from recycled tires. The CWS removes excess rubber and other contaminants producing a very clean finished product. The recovered rubber is returned back to the operation.

The CWS is a proprietary multi-step process consisting of patented screening, agitation, magnetic and air separation.
