As buyers and processors of ferrous and nonferrous metals, Becker Iron & Metal, Inc. is a family owned 4th generation company servicing the scrap metal industry for over 100 years.  From our humble beginning as an immigrant with a horse and cart at the turn of the 20th century, our family has always maintained a commitment to customer relationships, honesty and integrity.  This is the foundation for all that we do.

Who We Serve                                                                                    

From the largest industrial manufacturing plant to the smallest machine shop, from Fortune 500 companies to the individual; Becker Iron & Metal serves a diverse customer base.  We accumulate our ferrous and nonferrous metals from a variety of sources:

• Industrial scrap – Manufacturers and service centers that generate a variety of metals as a by-product of their production processes.
• Obsolete scrap – Inventory liquidation, maintenance scrap, obsolete equipment, and any other scrap generated due to replacement or attrition.
• Demolition/Construction – Scrap generated from a large project such as bridge and building demolition or a small rehab project or interior gut.
• Dealer scrap – Our size, industry relationships and processing capabilities allow us to source scrap collected by other scrap dealers from across the nation.
• Peddler scrap – Whether its two men and a pickup truck gathering neighborhood scrap or a family collecting aluminum cans to recycle, our doors are open to the public to recycle our community’s waste and keep it from our landfills.

Your Scrap                                                                                          

Prices paid for scrap metals are determined primarily by market demand and the composition, quality, size and weight of the scrap products.  Scrap metal consumers (i.e., mills, smelters and foundries) pay a premium for scrap products that can be processed to meet their precise specifications.  Our efficient processing and state-of-the-art equipment allow us to meet these specifications and obtain a premium sale price for our customers’ scrap.  This added value allows us to offer exceptionally competitive pricing to our customers.

Becker Iron & Metal is the final end-of-life process for consumer products and structures.  Metals are prepared for and re-melted by mills, foundries and smelters to become new, metallic products.  Our customers’ ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals are processed at our facility through a variety of methods including sorting, baling, shearing, cutting, crushing or breaking.  Becker Iron & Metal has and continues to make a substantial investment in its state-of-the-art processing systems and equipment as well as training our employees.

How We Process                                                                                  

Becker Iron & Metal uses systematic and formalized procedures in receiving, examining and sorting scrap deliveries by trained inspectors. From the point of delivery over our State-certified scales, scrap is scrutinized and sorted by grade for processing to maximize its value to the customer.

Becker Iron & Metal uses dedicated inbound and outbound truck scales for a quicker response to weighing our customers' shipments and a logically designed facility to rapidly offload delivered materials to help drive the fastest turnaround for our customers.
