Transition Metals Recycling, LLC is a locally owned and operated metals recycling company dedicated to providing first class recycling services to residents and businesses throughout the Seacoast area of New Hampshire and southern Maine. With over 25 years of experience managing the regional purchasing efforts and operations of several of the nations largest metals producers and metals recycling companies throughout the United States, owner/principal Joseph Nicolella, and his staff bring respect, integrity and honesty to the metals recycling industry on the Seacoast. Mr. Nicolella prides himself in offering an alternative outlet for recycling that is safe and clean, unintimidating to the user, and offers pricing competitive to the marketplace.
Transition Metals Recycling, LLC offers full-service recycling services to redeem non-ferrous metals from homeowners, businesses, schools, charities, municipalities, or any individual or organization looking to earn extra money by recycling. We are an alternative to the traditional 'scrap yard,' and operate in an environment that is absent of large trucks, heavy equipment, and a dirty, dusty environment that many are accustomed to having to deal with when recycling.
When you arrive at our facility, you will notice our clean, bright environment, and a staff that is unintimidating and all about customer service. Our scales are state-certified and maintained on a regular basis, we have carts/wheelbarrows to eliminate the need to 'carry in' your materials, and we are willing to assist with unloading.

Metals Recycling, LLC is fully committed to putting an end to metal theft in New Hampshire by working with law enforcement and affected parties to stop the
acceptance of stolen materials by all recyclers.
In an effort to limit the rising incidence of scrap metal theft, Transition Metals Recycling, LLC’s operations incorporates the following best practices with each
transaction:
- We require personal identification of the seller through the form of a photo ID (Driver’s License, Military ID, State ID card, etc.)
- We do not purchase from individuals under the age of 16 years
- We create a record of each transaction and seller
- We capture and retain a photo of all materials received during the weighing process
- We obtain the seller’s signature at the time of delivery and/or payment
contract or letter of authorization:
- New production scrap or new materials that are part of a manufacturing process that are being sold by an individual as opposed to a company.
- Items that are often used only by governments, utilities, railroads or for very specific purposes. This includes, but is not limited to traffic/street signs, water
and electric meters (or parts), certain cables used only in high voltage transmission lines, historic markers, cemetery plaques and artwork. - Full-sized, new materials such as those used in construction, or equipment tools used by contractors.
- Materials that may not be new, but are clearly suspect, such as bleachers from an athletic field, traffic/street signs, certain types of copper pipe, newer
extension cords, etc. - Materials that are clearly marked as belonging to another entity other than the seller, such as beer kegs, soda cylinders, milk crates, and other marked
materials. - Materials that have been reported stolen.
incidents of metal theft, and maintains records of all transactions. We fully cooperate with local, state and federal law enforcement in the prosecution of metal theft.
