WHEREVER HERE IS FOR YOU – CMC IS THERE.

Commercial Metals Company is a global, low-cost metals recycling, manufacturing, fabricating and trading enterprise.
With corporate headquarters in Irving, Texas, CMC operates more than 200 local recycling centers; steel mills; fabrication facilities; marketing and distribution offices; construction-related product stores; heat treating facilities; and other related operations - in more than 25 countries. You’ll find our steel in American football stadiums, German airports, Saudi Arabian infrastructure, Singaporean high-rise buildings and in other well-known structures around the world.
Our vertical integration model revolutionized the way the steel industry operates today. Originating in 1915 with a single recycling location, we have continuously moved into higher-value downstream segments of the ferrous and non-ferrous metal lifecycle.

RECYCLING

CMC is here to reduce, reuse and recycle.
CMC was built on recycled metal. Our history dates back to a single location in Dallas, Texas, established in 1915. Over a century, CMC has grown to become one of the world’s largest metal recyclers, with facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. We have the capacity to process and ship more than four million tons of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals annually.
We operate more than 60 locations globally - buying, processing, selling and managing recycled metals in collaboration with partners large and small. Recycling customers include: steel mills; aluminum refineries and mills; copper and brass mills; special steel producers; high temperature alloy manufacturers and foundries; and recycling customers throughout our local communities.

FABRICATION

CMC is here to reinforce your success
Reinforcing the value we offer our customers in the construction market, CMC fabricates many types of metal products. At more than 85 fabrication locations in North American and Europe – including rebar and structural fabrication plants; fence post manufacturing plants; heat treating plants; wire mesh fabrication facilities and construction-related product stores – CMC has more than two million tons of annual fabrication capacity.
CMC fabrication locations serve commercial and public construction projects as well as the energy and infrastructure markets. Our experienced team has fabricated steel for many notable projects all around the world, including the Pentagon 9/11 rebuild, major sports facilities, international airports and infrastructure projects.

SAFETY

At Commercial Metals Company we take the safety and well-being of our employees very seriously. OUR GOAL IS TO DO OUR WORK THE RIGHT WAY. What is 'RIGHT?' The right way is the correct, consistent, and safe way of doing our jobs. Our CMC families depend on their loved ones' ability to provide for their family and return home safely each day after work.
We promote a safe and healthy environment for all individuals associated with CMC including employees, vendors, customers, and our surrounding communities. As our motto states: no amount of production or profit is worth injury to any employee.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

As a responsible corporate citizen, Commercial Metals Company is committed to minimizing our impact on the environment and protecting our natural resources for future generations.
STEEL IS THE MOST RECYCLED MATERIAL IN THE WORLD. As one of the world's largest metal recyclers, our vertically integrated manufacturing processes save over 215,000,000 cubic feet of landfill space annually. Our recycled metal scrap is melted into new steel in our electric furnaces, rolled into finished products in our rolling mills, and fabricated into job specific lengths to be used in projects that build America's buildings and infrastructure.
Our micro and minimill steelmaking processes consume less natural resources and release fewer emissions than the blast furnace steelmaking technology. For every ton of steel recycled, we save the use of 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,400 pounds of coal and 120 pounds of limestone. By using steel scrap as our primary raw material, we reduce CO2 emissions by 58% and conserve our natural resources.
CMC is committed to conducting business in a manner that manages and promotes environmental responsibility. We fulfill this commitment by:

  • Conducting our operations in an environmentally sound manner
  • Applying the principles of reducing, reusing and recycling in all company processes
  • Promoting environmental responsibility among our employees
  • Pursuing continuous improvement in our environmental performance
