Aluminum Grip Strut

Characteristics

Aluminum grip strut is safety grating that provides a higher level of support than standard stair tread grating. It provides a very good load-bearing capacity in ratio to its weight, and is the best non-slip safety surface of any type grating. In ratio to its weight, safety grating will support more load than bar grating. However, it is not designed for extremely heavy loads.

Grip Strut Plank Grating is a one-piece metal plank grating manufactured by a cold forming process in the shape of a channel. The web of the channel is the walking surface and has rough serrated edges around diamond shaped openings. Diamond openings are complete with radiused corners at the saddle and side channel locations.

Features

  • Safer, serrated surface: Grips soles securely–in all directions–in practically every place. These non-slip regular Grip Strut Safety Grating surfaces are ideal for inside or outside locations where mud, ice, snow, oil and detergents can create hazardous walking conditions. Openings are small enough to catch most falling tools and other dangerous objects.
  • Fast Installation: Light, easy-to-handle planks make installation simpler and quicker. They can be handled by one man. Most regular grip strut sections are rapidly bolted, clamped or welded into place, easily field-cut at virtually any angle, or fabricated to adapt to field conditions. Several attachment devices permit fastening to most existing supports, allowing fast installation or disassembly.
  • Serrated Regular Grip Strut Grating: Offers excellent slip resistance wherever maximum safety underfoot is essential. Regular grip strut material meets anti-slip values set forth in Federal Specification RR-G-1602A.
  • Non-serrated Regular Grip Strut Grating Available: For all-purpose use where a high degree of slip resistance is required plus a smoother texture and design. Product subject to extended lead time.
  • Standard Grip Strut Grating Planks: Available in steel, aluminum, galvanized and stainless steel materials sized to meet most load/span requirements. May be furnished as is or banded, cut, or welded to suit requirements.

Applications

A versatile product, grip strut grating can be used in most applications where safe footing is important. These include equipment platforms, catwalks, ramps, truck bodies and trailers, and stair treads.
