Frier Custom Manufacturing, Inc.

19241 83rd St., Bristol, Wisconsin, United States | Steel/Iron

Frier Custom Manufacturing, a full service machine shop, opened in 2007. Our specialties include reverse engineering, prototypes and running small volume production, on time and on budget. We are a small shop, but with a large network. We regularly serve clients like Westinghouse and Borg Warner, but have also made plenty of one-off parts for people who simply walk in off the street.

In addition to machining, the owner is passionate about motorsports. He volunteers as a part of the Build Moto mentor program, which connects youth with professionals in order to restore and race vintage motorcycles.

Community Outreach

Frier Custom Manufacturing is dedicated to training the next generation of machinists. We understand the importance of providing vocational education to Milwaukee youth. To honor this commitment, we volunteer as mentors for Build Moto.

Begun in 2010, Build Moto has provided teams of high school students from the Milwaukee area an opportunity to learn alongside motorcycle design professionals. Students from participating schools that apply for the program must have good grades and attendance records to join. The teams work together to restore vintage motorcycles.

In June, Build Moto races the bikes at their partner track, Road America. Bikes are then judged on speed and design. The program provides not only a safe space to learn, but also a place for the students to be creative. Already, a recent graduate who wanted to stay involved in the program has returned as a mentor.

It teaches students that if they don’t want to wear a suit everyday or make lattes, there is another road. We are trying to hold on to some manufacturing in America.
