Palmetto Industries International Inc.

In 1994 Shankar Balan started Palmetto Industries in Augusta, Georgia and began making bags in a factory off Tobacco Road. In the first year, with less than 20 employees, Palmetto generated over $1 million in sales.

In 1995 Palmetto Industries established joint ventures in India and became the first company to construct an FIBC bag overseas in India. In just its with over $3 million in revenue, Palmetto Industries was recognized as the 6th fastest growing business by Entrepreneur Magazine.

In 1996 Palmetto Industries was once again ranked in the top 20 of Entrepreneur Magazine’s fasted growing business, coming in at the 16th fastest growing company. One year later in 1997 Palmetto created its first supplier relationship in China.

Via acquisition of supplier assets Palmetto Industries India Private Limited was established in Pondicherry, India in 2006. With over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space, Palmetto Industries became the first vertically integrated FIBC manufacturer with manufacturing capabilities in India.

Between 2008 and 2009 Palmetto Industries received ISO:9001, ISO:22000 and HACCP certifications.

Today, Palmetto Industries has expanded our sales force in the USA and added strategic warehouses within the USA and Europe to better serve our US and international customer bases. We have dedicated ourselves to not only provide the highest quality products in the industry but to do so while providing excellent customer service to our clients.
