Arrowhead Products

4409 Katella Avenue, Los Alamitos, California, United States | Steel/Iron

Arrowhead Products was founded in 1937 as Arrowhead Rubber Company. In 1942, Arrowhead Rubber conceived the idea of rubber coated fabric ducting which gave birth to “Airtron” products. This rapidly became the company’s most important product during WWII.

Arrowhead Rubber was sold to National Motor Bearing in 1944. In 1951, Arrowhead Rubber began designing and producing high-altitude pressure suits called “G.U.S.” (Garment, Upper Stratosphere).

The G.U.S. was worn by actor Lee Marvin in a 1959 episode of Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse titled “Man in Orbit.”

In 1956,

Federal Mogul purchased National Motor Bearing and changed the name of the company from Arrowhead Rubber Company to Arrowhead Products. The company moved from its Signal Hill location to Los Alamitos in 1960; two years later, Arrowhead Products was awarded a prime contract from NASA to design and manufacture the entire propellant system for the First Stage Apollo Booster Rocket.

Arrowhead Products was sold to Vesper Corporation, now called Industrial Manufacturing Company, in 1983. In 2011 Arrowhead opened a facility in Nanjing China, and then in 2015 Arrowhead began offering repairs and spares services from our newly-built repair station.
