Acier Select Inc.

Originally founded as the Select Steel Structure in 1997 , the company from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu has never stopped growing. The year 2002 is change for the company since the company officially named Steel Select Inc., and inaugurates new premises of 16,000 ft ² in the industrial park of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

With sustained growth, Acier Sélect expanded its production capacity in 2008 by increasing the area of ​​its plant by 14,300 ft ² . The company is also acquiring state-of-the-art equipment, including a new '  Drill Line  '. These investments subsequently enabled him to win several major contracts.

In order to remain a leader in the field, Acier Sélect acquired in 2010 an “  Angle Master  ” which enabled it to increase its production of auxiliary parts.

In 2011 , the co-founder of the company, Jean-Paul Roy retired after 14 years at the head of the company. He thus transmits the torch to the current president, Sylvain Benjamin and to the vice-president, Mario Lavoie.

In 2012 , in order to improve the quality of its product, Acier Sélect incorporated a “  shot blast  ” into its assembly line, thus adding added value to its projects by offering a superior quality finish. The company therefore modifies its production line in order to increase its production from 200 to 250 tonnes per week.

In 2013 , the addition of a robotic plasma cutting system contributed to the expansion of the company by increasing manufacturing precision while reducing lead times.

In 2016 , the managers of Steel Sélect set up a process of gradual transfer to the next generation in order to ensure the sustainability of the company, to solidify it and to ensure it a prosperous future.

At its 20th anniversary in 2017 , Acier Sélect celebrates the expansion of its offices and factory. Indeed, the addition of a second floor to existing offices makes it possible to enlarge the various departments in addition to being able to create a new drawing department. The inauguration of a new section of the factory, with a lifting capacity of more than 60 tonnes, allows to increase the production capacity of the company in addition to exploring new markets in the industry.
