Gautier Specialty Metals (GSM) operates a premier plate mill capable of rolling advanced high perfomance metals to a variety of industries.

Our western Pennsylvania facility has at its heart a 54' wide 4 high Mesta reversing mill, able to roll the most difficult of specialty metals.

Building on Gautier Steel's long legacy of short lead times and excellent customer service, GSM is able to roll high quality alloy, tool, and stainless steels as well as the advanced nickel based alloys, powdered metal cans, and clad cans.

History

In December of 2015, Gautier successfully rolled plate on a mill comprised of components re-engineered from a decommissioned mill in Gadsden, Alabama while incorporating state of the art controls and processes. This project began in 2006 with the trial rolling(s) of titanium on a hand mill built in the late 1800’s. In 2009, a state-of-the- art finishing facility was installed, and ended with a specialty metals plate mill constructed in 2015.

Throughout this process, Gautier developed a strategic and marketing plan to create a new business as well as engineered a specialty metals plate mill from a decommisioned mill. A strong domestic customer base has been developed and we are starting to reach into the international arena.
