Uravan Minerals Inc.

Uravan is a Calgary based uranium exploration company focused in the Athabasca Basin Canada. Uravan's principal assets and active exploration projects are the Outer Ring, Halliday and Stewardson uranium projects. 

Since 2008, Uravan and the Queen's Facility for Isotope Research (QFIR) at Queen's University, ON, Canada, have collaborated in developing new surface geochemical technologies to explore for unconformity-related uranium mineralization under cover in the Athabasca Basin. The purpose for developing these surface geochemical techniques is to vector drilling to favorable geophysical targets as a means to rapidly evaluate under-explored terrain. The goal is to get to economic mineral discovery more quickly and cost effectively (fewer drill-holes).

In 2009 and 2013 surface geochemical studies were conducted over two (2) known high-grade uranium deposits in the Athabasca Basin, respectively, the Cigar West (Cigar West Study) and Centennial (Centennial Study) deposits. The objective of these studies was to determine if can be identified in the surface environment that support their vertical migration from a known high-grade uranium deposit at depth.  The evaluation of data collected from these studies strongly supports 'The Model' that pathfinder elements, gaseous compounds and unique isotopic signatures migrate from uranium mineralization at depth to the surface environment (soils and trees) where they can be geochemically measured.

From 2010 through 2015 these new surface geochemical techniques have been applied to Uravan's active exploration projects, targeting prominent electromagnetic (EM) geophysical features supported by significant surface geochemical patterns and trends. A further test of this technology (proof of concept) will occur in 2016 with a follow up drill program over Area B on the Stewardson project

Uravan is a publicly listed company on the TSX Venture Exchange under the trading symbol UVN. All of the mineral properties Uravan owns are considered in the exploration stage of development
