L & M Steel Company

Founded in 1965, by Orvis Maxey, Jr. and Gene Lawrence, L & M Steel Company, is an independent, privately held, reinforcing steel fabricator and supplier of concrete accessories. Les Maxey took over the company from Orvis and continued to build upon the foundation laid by Orvis and Gene. In October of 2013 Michael Doucet joined L & M Steel as president and co-owner. For over 50 years L & M Steel has maintained a solid reputation for great quality and customer service. In 2014 L & M Steel Company implemented a new business model we call, C.A.R.E. C.A.R.E. stands for Customer Service, Accountability, Returns, and Entrepreneurial Spirit. As part of C.A.R.E., profits are allocated between reinvestment in the company, a quarterly employee incentive plan, and giving back to the community. C.A.R.E. takes the best of what we have done over the past 50 years, then adds to it those guiding principles to propel us forward.
