Custom Aluminum Foundry Ltd.

Custom Aluminum Foundry (CAF) celebrated 50 years of outstanding service to our customers in 2005. We have a long history of providing high quality aluminum and zinc aluminum castings to a wide variety of industries. CAF was founded in April 1955 by George Butler, an experienced foundryman, as a one-man, 600 square foot shop located in Galt, Ontario. Since then, the company has expanded its capacity for increased and improved products and service. CAF is now operated by Georges son, Joe Butler, and Joes daughter, Amanda MacNamara. In 2002, CAF moved to a brand new, state-of-the-art facility. The 33,000 square foot facility is located on Dobbie Drive in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, where it employs a staff of 50. At CAF, we believe our employees are our greatest assets. We are committed to providing them with ongoing training as well as the best tools available to assist them in utilizing their unique skills. Our staffs commitment and pride of workmanship, is displayed in the quality of the delivered product. . With their many years of combined experience, our highly trained molders are able to meet complex casting requirements.

To maintain our high standards of quality, CAFs molders utilize the latest technologies and processes to produce a superior product. Our ten gas furnaces give us the capacity to melt over 10,000 pounds of high-quality aluminum and zinc aluminum. We utilize rotary de-gassers to completely de-gas every melt we produce. Chemistry is monitored with our in house spectrometer. Overhead sand systems, automatic molding machines and an in-house pattern shop allow us to decrease costs and maintain a high rate of productivity. Also our 10-ton and 25-ton cranes and large airset bays allow us to accommodate both large and small casting jobs to meet all of your needs.
