Colibri Resource Corporation

Colibri Resource Corporation was formed with the explicit purpose to explore historical mining districts in Mexico. The company has five gold focussed exploration projects Sonora State, Mexico. One of these projects is a joint venture project with Agnico Eagle. Historical artisanal mining was conducted on all five properties. Original miners followed surface exposures of high grade vein systems underground.  

The Company’s projects include: Evelyn (early stage exploration), El Mezquite (Early stage exploration), Pilar (advanced exploration – currently under option), Pitaya (JV with Agnico Eagle – advanced exploration), and Jackie grass roots exploration).

In the State of Sonora, there are many operating open pit, bulk tonnage mines in production; La Herradura (owned by Fresnillo plc), Piedras Verdes, (Frontera Copper), Mulatos, (Alamos Gold), El Chanate (AuRico Gold), Santa Elena (SilverCrest Mines), San Francisco (Timmins Gold), El Chanate (AuRico Gold), La Caridad (Grupo Mexico), Cananea (Grupo Mexico), Milpillas (Penoles), Cerro Colorado (Goldgroup) and Alamo Dorado, (Pan American Silver).

All operating mines mentioned above had histories of historical artisanal mining of high grade vein systems prior to modern exploration. By applying current day exploration techniques in these areas, these miners discovered much larger mineralized systems which are now being mined by bulk tonnage, open pit methods.

Colibri Resource Corporation has experienced modern exploration successes on its own highly mineralized properties (with historical mine sites) and intends to grow the mineral resources of these projects to a point where development decisions can be made.
