RAM’s relationship with you starts with our Territory Managers serving Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Our Territory Managers are proud of their expertise, honesty, and integrity and understand that your business is an enduring relationship. RAM Territory Managers have an average of 25 years experience. RAM Territory Managers not only bring their own expertise but have a team of company project managers, estimators, crew personnel and architectural and engineering consultants to help complete your project. Our Project Managers are some of the most experienced in our industry. Not only do they have a wide range of general construction knowledge but also many of our managers have developed a specialized knowledge for one particular building type to give true niche market specialization. We have a seasoned staff of construction estimators and drafting technicians all trained with advanced computer aided design and processing systems. Our construction crews are trained in the most advanced methods of building construction in MN as well as the upper Midwest. Each project has a pre-construction meeting to determine the most economical and efficient method of building construction.

Finally, our suppliers are an important part of our team. We have developed strategic partnerships with our suppliers to not only provide us products, but to provide us with knowledge that the products specified for your building are the best ones for your project. Our vendors continuously update us with material improvements, new applications, and industry trends.

Company History

Rollie Radtke And Gregg Machemehl decided to stop competing with each other and combined forces to create RAM. The partnership formed is a good one; with each of them having different expertise in the building industry it has brought a well rounded perspective to the business. Both men had experience in the construction industry for many years. Their first venture together was Gregg’s addition to the partnership with Waconia Building Supply. At the start of this endeavor the two men had 36 years combined experience in the construction industry. Their experience combined with the relationships they established in the industry and the community played a key role in RAM’s development and growth.

RAM Buildings, Inc. is the original corporation within the RAM family. It began in 1998 and since then has been a thriving part of the construction industry in the Midwest. RAM Buildings, Inc. provides a full range of construction capabilities in both wood frame and steel frame building solutions for your equestrian, commercial, storage, agricultural, residential, hangar, and cabin construction projects. RAM Buildings, Inc. is a member of the National Frame Builders Association and has won 8 Building of the Year awards.

RAM was doing so well and wanted to be able to service their customers in an even broader spectrum. They decided to add RAM General Contracting, Inc. to the family in 2005. RAM General Contracting, Inc. offers a complete ONE-STOP source for your entire post frame, wood frame, CMU (block), precast, and steel frame building projects from start to finish. RAM General Contracting, Inc. specializes in large equestrian facilities, commercial and industrial buildings.

Radtke and Machemehl recognized a problem facing their customers – they had to go to many different sources to get their project completed, and they had to try and manage all of this on their own. Wanting to satisfy the needs of their clients, the RAM Advantage was created. The idea conceived is that there can be one place from which to receive all of your services from beginning to end. What a stress free approach to building! You set the budget, we discuss the options, and away we go. It is within our plans to strive to improve upon the RAM Advantage from this day forward. RAM has always been and will forever be client focused.

In 2009 RAM began offering excavation services as a division of RAM General Contracting, Inc. The division grew very quickly and in 2012 it was decided to make RAM Excavating Services its own corporation. Yet another advantage for the customer who chooses RAM! RAM Excavating Services, Inc. is the newest addition to the RAM family of companies.
