Fowler & Hammer, Inc.
313 Monitor Street, La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States | Steel/Iron
Fowler & Hammer, Inc. is an established leader among commercial general contractors serving the Midwest. We offer exceptional value through a customer-focused philosophy that espouses professionalism, quality, ethics, and safety.
HISTORY
Robert “Bob” Fowler, P.E., a civil engineering graduate of Marquette University, founded Fowler & Hammer, Inc. on January 22, 1963. Bob truly loved his work — from his early experience with a large concrete contractor, to his war years as a Navy Seabee constructing airfields throughout the Pacific Ocean.
Bob was fascinated with draft horses and the teamwork they displayed. Fowler and Hammer, Inc. actually bought a team of Belgians named “King and Queen” to clear the land where the company is located today on Monitor Street in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The horses were stabled in the company yard in what is still referred to today as “the horse barn.”
His simple formula for success paired quality construction with competitive pricing in order to guarantee customer satisfaction and build long-lasting relationships. Today, Dave Mydy, President/CEO, Eric Lehmann, Vice President/COO, Jim Fowler, P.E., LEED AP, and Sue (Fowler) Christopherson continue the Fowler family legacy by leading a team of dedicated construction professionals just as Bob did for over 20 years.
