Our Story

A Better Solution to Building Steel Structures

With over 17 years of experience in the metal building industry, Carbon Steel Buildings’ President Del Sneath observed a major problem in the metal building system market – one that was severely undermining quality, efficiency, cost, and most importantly, client service and satisfaction.

The problem was that a contractor could go to an architect or engineer to design a custom building, but would be obligated to contract out separate trades for the metal building system production, crew coordination, and the building erection. That alone was a major problem – but it was even worse in some scenarios!

That’s because, quite often, the building erection process in itself could require multiple contractors, because of the highly specialized make-up of building crews. The resulting logistical headaches, cost overruns, and quality nightmares all combined to inspire Del with the notion that there simply had to be a better way.

That better way became Carbon Steel Buildings: a new kind of company built on the vision of streamlining the construction of metal building systems, so that clients benefit from lower costs, higher quality, faster production times, and better service.
