Adler Metal Works Limited

AMW specialize in aluminum welded truss products for the lighting industry. Since 1985 we have been designing and building truss primarily for Christie Lites. Our designs have met performance and durability goals over many years of service.

We are also efficient with rapid development of custom designs. From rough sketch to 3D model to finished product, we enjoy the process.

A Mercifully Brief History

1983
Joan and Percy Adler create All Metal Welding and Machine Company.

1984
AMW&MC became Adler Metal Works Limited.
We began operation repairing, restoring, designing and building racing cars.
This work demanded a high degree of fabricating silliness and an elevated sense of design and construction.
All of those lessons were key to us being able to confidently solve many of the problems we were to face in the future.

1985
We met Huntly Christie while doing a small project to build a keyboard rack for a rock band.
Huntly had started a small lighting company called Christie Lites and was operating out of his father's two car garage.
Hunt asked if we could build some truss for him and hence began an exceptional relationship.

1989
We decided to move AMW to Prince Edward County and concentrate on our 'motor division'.
We had several cars to build and wanted to be a one man shop again ... a 'motor artiste' (ha ha).
AMW helped Hunt vet a new welding shop so his stuff was in good hands
and we headed off into the solitary wilderness to build handmade cars.

1994
We were getting to the end of our car building commitments and decided to revive the 'truss division'.
We reconnected with Christie Lites, a company who had a tendency to grow in size.
We developed many sizes of circle truss to add to our range of existing products.

1995
AMW partnered with Christie Lites to develop the 16' (B Type) truss system.

2002
AMW/CL developed our new Swing Wing (D Type) truss system.

2007
AMW/CL added the curvy and seductive 'Dance Towers'

2009
AMW/CL developed the Catwalk Truss for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.

2010
AMW/CL developed the new SW24 Swing Wing (E Type) truss system.

2010
AMW/CL developed the new Track Truss (F Type) low profile truss system.

Over the years we have also designed many custom truss configurations and accessories.
All this work keeps us on our toes and boredom at bay.
