Jones Valley Fabrication specializes in custom, fabricated platework and structural steel for a variety of industrial applications spanning across several markets, including oil & gas, power generation, material handling, air pollution control, mining, petrochemical, pulp & paper, wood yard, and wastewater.

Named after the valley in which the city of Birmingham is situated in central Alabama, Jones Valley Fabrication serves customers and projects all over the United States. We are committed to understanding and meeting our customers’ needs, as well as those of our employees and our community.

In the early 1800’s, a settler from England named John Jones established a home site in a remote valley in central Alabama where Birmingham now lies. The valley became known as Jones Valley, and over time, became an intersecting point for railroad lines coming out of Chattanooga and Atlanta.

As the Industrial Revolution took hold, large deposits of iron ore, limestone, and coal – the three major raw components in steel – were all found in the Jones Valley – the only place in the world that this occurs. In 1871 the city of Birmingham was founded, named for the leading industrial city in England, and the area exploded to become the primary industrial center of the Southern US built on iron and steel production, earning the nickname “Pittsburgh of the South.”

Today, the industry that animated Birmingham’s early development, nearly 150 years ago, is still an integral part of its economy and culture. Jones Valley Fabrication is committed to preserving the art of steel fabricating – forming and welding – and the legacy of developing our nation’s infrastructure and manufacturing.

Jones Valley Fabrication exists to serve not just our customers, but our employees and community as well. The company was founded in 2017, following the dissolution of another fabricator, which left 82 workers unemployed in late December of that year. JVF stepped in to rehire a core group of those skilled workers who were laid off, and set out to build the best metal fabrication business in the Southeast.
