Founded by Edward R. May as Shoals Metal Roofing. Installed industrial and commercial panels. (1962)

Diversified as erection subcontractor of metal buildings. (1963)

Changed name to Oakland Metal Buildings. Gained capacity for site preparation, foundational work, concrete floors and light metal fabrication. (1964)

Became fully integrated into all phases of metal building systems. (1976)

Phillip E. May became President. Expanded core business throughout Southeast and into Northeast and Midwest (1985)

Phillip’s son, Jerrod Adams, became General Manager and continues leading OMB into an expanded arena of modern building systems. (2010)
